• Hi all

Iv been developing my own stratergy and completed (they are never complete right?) my engine and deployment system.

My strategy shows good promise but is fully technical (loosely based around opening range, RVOL and technical sentiment / daily bias)

I’m looking to throw market sentiment into the mix and see if I can add to my directional bias to sharpen confluence.

I’m potentially looking to gather news scoring on ticker level and looking to create a weighted moving average to sentiment score, short term due to ORB frequency, perhaps 7 days weighted.

Can anyone recommend if this is a good / typical approach?

Can anyone recommend and data sources? I’m looking at market aux at the moment, any good?

Ideally it would be nice to get some free data for a couple of years, a couple of tickers so I can prove concept before paying for data, delay is fine as it’s only for back testing – if anyone has this data to hand for a ticker or 2 I would appreciate a share just for testing (not being tight, I just dont want to pay for a sub for a conceptual idea)

Longer term, my system uses around 15 tickers but I have collected detailed spread and 8 years of 1m data for around 50 tickers so if it shows promise I would like to interfere on all of the tickers for testing.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Everyone, I own a small moving company in Chicago and have been working with two different SEO teams over the last 2 year.

The first group handled my SEO from March to August 2024. They did some basic things like creating service pages, optimizing my Google Business Profile, and writing a few blogs. I stopped working with them after realizing that by September, I didn’t get a single job from Google — all of my work was coming from other lead providers. And as you know, people book movers 4–6 weeks in advance, so that was a red flag – so I stopped workint with them.

In April 2025, I hired a new team — two people working on SEO for my company. From April to June, they did a lot more: created new service pages, optimized meta descriptions, built sitemaps, published blogs, and improved internal linking.

Now here’s the issue. When I compare April to June last year vs. this year:

    2024 : 2025Clicks: 176 : 448Impressions: 14.4K : 160KCTR: 1.2% : 0.3%Avg. Position: 31.1 : 43.1

YES – the impressions are WAAAY higher — but I’m still getting fewer leads from Google this year than I did last year. We also ran Google Ads this season, but those didn’t perform well either.

I’m trying to be involved, learn SEO basics, and help the people working on my SEO. I also have someone handling my social media to help with credibility and branding, but despite all that effort, we’re not seeing the results we hoped for.

I’ve been thinking about setting a separate budget just for backlinks. I have a free Semrush account, and it shows: Authority Score: 9Organic Search Keywords: 63Backlinks: 91Traffic Share: 20%

My current SEO people keep telling me to stay patient and that things will pick up in off-season months. Currently, I have a 140 Google reviews with a 4.9 rating, but I know my competitors have 250 reviews 600, or even 2,500+.

I use a good CRM, offer competitive pricing, and we provide solid service — but I feel like I’m stuck in the same loop every year. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don’t want to walk in circles anymore. Thank you ! ! !

  • Best chance to get to Hawaii. Maui is cheap because of many cancelled trips. $500 airfare. Rooms for under $150 a night. Best kept secret. Lahaina gone but Kihei is empty. Car $170/wk. never be this cheap again

  • So I’ve been reading many articles and reviews about encoding time series data into images, before feeding them into vision models for classification or forecasting. So this shifts the original problem from conventional time series analysis into the image domain. Yet, i didn’t find any article or even a phrase that mentions that this transformation has any drawbacks or limitations. Do you think this is possible?

  • I see GSC being recommended as a rank tracking option a lot on Reddit and it’s awful advice.

    Here’s why:

𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 ≠ 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥: GSC’s “Average Position” isn’t a fixed rank… it’s an aggregate of all searches over time.

If one user saw you at 2 and another at 8, GSC might show an average like 5.0.

That number blurs reality. You never actually sat at 5; it’s just maths. Real rank trackers show you the exact position at a given time.

    No averaging fuzziness.

𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐏 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐤𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐭: GSC counts all search features as “positions.”

If your page shows in a local 3-pack or a Featured Snippet, Search Console might report you at Position 1… even if your actual organic listing was lower.

So your site might average at 1.1 because of a maps listing, while the organic result sits around 8th.

GSC basically treats a fancy box (maps, AI answer, PAA, etc.) as taking up a rank slot.

Rank trackers, on the other hand, let you see true organic rank (and whether you’re in those features separately).

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Your “rank” can vary by location and user.

GSC lumps data across countries or devices unless you filter deeply. It’s country-level at best. No city or post/zip code precision. If you’re big in local SEO, GSC won’t tell you how you rank in your city versus elsewhere.

A dedicated tracker can check from a specific location, so you know where you really stand.

𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐬: GSC only records a position when someone actually sees your result.

If you quietly sit at page 5 but nobody goes that far, GSC shows nothing. Or it looks like your average rank is higher than it truly is.

In other words, no impressions ≠ no ranking. Third-party trackers catch those unseen rankings too, so you’re aware of every keyword, not just the ones that get clicks.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐀𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: With Google’s new AI-powered answers, things get crazier. If your site is cited in an AI answer, Search Console counts that…

But it shoves all those AI citations into one position. It’s recorded as a top spot impression, even though it’s not a traditional blue-link ranking.

This makes the ‘average position’ murkier than ever.

Google Search Console is awesome for trend analysis and click data, but it was never built to be a precise rank tracking tool.

Its data is aggregated, delayed and affected by features that distort what “rank” really means. If you need to truly know where you stand in the SERPs, by location, in plain organic, right now, you’ll want a dedicated rank tracker (yes, the kind built for that job).

GSC’s useful. Just not for this.
