• Recently I ordered a soft toy from Amazon, its huge in actual size, like 3ft or something but Amazon had vacuum packed it to the size of a laptop. Since then I started wondering if I could use that.

I’m moving across country, normally I’d leave most of my clothes and blankets here because they are bulky and puffy and take up a lot of space. But in reality they are very light. And I always tend to travel light from the 50lb weight limit, it’s just that the clothes take up almost all of the space where I can’t push it any further.

So I was starting to consider if vacuum packing would be a good idea. In my mind if I can use that I can even compress my pillows and take them with me and then leave them in the sun for a couple days to let them stretch out.

Do the magic bags and vacuum bags sold on Amazon and Walmart do job effectively enough if anyone has experience with them.

The difference in my situation is that I do not have to pack the bags on the way back so I was considering purchasing a pump and bags separately, and then I could just leave the pump instead of half my stuff.

If anyone has other suggestions let me know as well.

    Thanks a lot

  • I’m in the stages of my Japan trip planning where I’m approaching purchasing my airfare and I’m traveling with my dad. I’ve been stashing chase UR points for a while and have more than enough for an economy flight and my plan was to just book through the Chase travel portal rather than deal with transfer of points. I logged in today to look further at the flights and basically all of the economy flights under $1300 leaving my airport on the west coast do not offer seat selection (delta, Ana, hawaiin) with Ana being the most inexpensive.

My dad uses Alaska air and I guess Ana is a partner so he’s kind of wanting to book through Alaska. I’m wondering, if we book together through my chase portal (or just book together in general on the same itinerary/check out) would Ana seat us together in economy or would our seats just get placed whereever? I noticed there is a lot of groups of 2 with the middle seat available on the flight but at least 8 or so rows with a full 3 seats available..

I’m also wondering, if we book through our different portals is there any chance we can contact Ana or at the counter before boarding to possibly sit together?

Does anyone have experience with either of these scenarios? If we can sit together booking through my portal I might be able to persuade him to book that way as I might be able to put his fare on his credit card.

    Thanks

  • Hi all! I’m curious about the challenges people face when building and maintaining AI applications powered by large language models.

If there was a tool that gave you clear visibility into your AI prompts, usage costs, and errors, how likely would you be to use it? Please reply with a number from 1 (not interested) to 5 (definitely would use).

Also, feel free to share what your biggest pain points are when debugging or monitoring these AI systems!

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hey guys,

I had posed about my platform World of Bots earlier: [https://www.worldofbots.app/](https://www.worldofbots.app/)

It takes real time market data and turns it into a conversation between bots. The posts are also about the biggest gainers and losers on any given day.

The best part is you can ask the bot questions and they will respond back immediately with real time data. Give it a try and let me know.

I was wondering how this can be made more useful for people who depend on high quality market data.

Would it be better if you could get updates on WhatsApp ? Let me know your thoughts.

  • I’m trying to train a diarization model and hitting a wall with clean data (especially stuff with overlapping speakers or background noise).

I’ve looked at VoxCeleb and AMI, which are decent, but wondering if there’s anything newer or more diverse out there. Ideally something that isn’t just English and has a good range of speaker types.
