• For example, would flying out on a Friday night and flying back in on a Sunday (because we still have bills to pay and limited PTO lol) be feasible?

I’m sure this is heavily individual reliant, but I’d love to hear any experiences or stories anyone may have on balancing their M-F 8-5 and still trying to explore!

I haven’t received much as I’ve always made the excuse of “time, money, work, dishes in the sink” but I’d really like to change that this year and gain more worldly experience and perspective by solo traveling 🙂

Examples of cities I plan to potentially spend a weekend in:

    Chicago, IL

    NYC (self explanatory)

    Portland, OR

Short list for now but I’m also open to suggestions 🙂 I don’t rlly care for tourist attractions much and would prefer to visit and act like a local (as I’m also doing this to scope out new cities to move to).

I’m also doing this to mentally prepare traveling and flying by myself as I’m planning a big trip to Japan in February of next year! Aaaaa, I’m so excited but so nervous.

  • # How many unique foods are there really? Can I just make a arbitrary assumption about the number of unique labels of food items to decide on an N for an N-clustering approach?

Working on a project in my data cleaning class, and I have a list of 400,000+ names of menu dish items from a New York Public Library dataset. There a lot of easy data cleaning to be done in terms of things like “Eggs and Ham” vs “Eggs & Ham”, but you could go farther and cluster things like “Filet mignon of beef saute, mushroom sauce, carrots and peas” and “Filet Mignon, with Fresh Mushrooms”

I want to make the assumption that there are really only like X types of food. Not that that’s true in terms of recipes of course, but that the lines between what really counts as different would be subjectively murky after a certain point. Like, is “Eggs and Tomatoes” really that different from “Eggs and Tomatoes with chives”. Also, since we’re working with just the names of foods, and not recipes, it might be impossible to know if someone else’s “Eggs and Tomatoes” listed on their menu might have had chives anyway, since it’s just the name from their menu.

Anyway, just curious on people thoughts for this approach to using Zipf’s law for clustering names together. Is it dumb? It’s probably good enough for this assignment either way, but would you avoid using this for professional data analytics?

  • Lot of people on the last post commented that without being the leader validator I can’t to frontrunning attacks. And, they’re not totally right. I’ll explain why later, but let’s get into my issue. Here are two issues I have:

    1. Sometimes, when my attack goes through, I get in a problem that does this:

    1. Buying: Successful.
    2. Selling: Err.

    or just buying gives err.

The error (i think) is because of the Associated Token Account that NEVER got initialized.

    Look at this TX:

    https://solscan.io/tx/2HdZVK4Q7PtjbiBkjwHP6LxCtMo2rSoe9kAGKxHUoseBetPrt1oLShpMSj3nnXXA3VbwZZ7VvSiJCfPBuQpaY3fY

How can I initialize a Token Account?

    2. Second issue:

    Sometimes my TX does this:

    1. Buying goes through and gets validated by Jito (and on my console output gives me the successful message, status 200)
    2. Then when selling, TX gets created, and somehow it says it got validated (status 200), but on solscan.io i never see that TX. Maybe that happens because I did set as blockhash slot to expiry 10?

I checked back the Jito tip and it’s correct, did someone encounter my same problem, when doing sniping, automated txs.. ?

Let’s get back where I was explaining why doing MEV on Solana without being a validator is possible.

Using Rust and Jupiter, I do everything in around 80ms or less. Then, I send the TX directly to Jito (that sends directly to the validator). Using the highest tip (99 percentile) it gets me the highest probability of my TX that goes through. I even talked with experts from Jito, who do this for living, and they told me it is possible but they can’t guarantee your code will get you to a profitable bot.

A TX usually needs around/more than 400ms. Enough time using paid services like gRPC, private RPC endpoints, …

  • My client has a lot of useful information and images about their products on their website.
    Product-List Site and a Product-Detail Site.

However, as these are very large production products, no prices are listed on their website, as they cannot simply be purchased. Instead, you have to consult with the sales department and sales staff and place a very precise order.

**But now to my actual question.**

Is it possible to integrate a product into the rich snippets / Structured Data without specifying a price (offers)?
There is also no rating system (aggregateRating) in which products can be rated.
Or some kind of review (review).
    Or the “pricing” (offers).

    Google Rich Snippets Guide:
    [https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product-snippet#product-properties](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product-snippet#product-properties)

Of course, you could also fake Infos.

But will the products then actually be displayed on Google?
Are there perhaps other rich snippet elements that I could use?
That would help me prepare the product detail page for rich snippets?

I am very excited to hear your answers and thank you for your help.

  • I was in the middle of a pretty hectic transit at O’Hare, carrying an irregular shaped poster tube from a science conference I was returning from. While putting my stuff through the security scanner, my backpack was placed in one tray, which got slid into the queue, and my work computer and other personal electronics got placed in another tray, which was separated from the first tray by a bunch of other trays of other people’s stuff. To make matters worse, I had to run my poster tube through a different scanner in a different line. When I got through the metal detector, I found my backpack and poster tube easy enough, but couldn’t find any of my electronics. When I went to one of the TSA agents, they couldn’t find it anywhere so they checked security footage and saw someone snag my stuff and get moving. By the time they had figured out where they went, the man had apparently boarded his plane and the gate had closed. I’ve filed reports with my airline, TSA, and Chicago PD, but the police officer and TSA agents pretty much all told me to wait and hope it was an accident and that it shows up in lost and found.

Anyways, this is mostly a vent, but is there anything else that can be done to help track down my stuff? My work laptop had a lot of my PhD work on there but I had mostly drained the battery thanks to the new Rimworld DLC and Find My seems to be not updating its location anymore.

  • Other than night 1 there are multiple options for accommodation on each night. Just message them on Whatsapp. We stayed at Soraypampa Hostel, Samana Wasi Hostel, and Lucmabamba Lodge for about 60-80 Soles a night, which included dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed each place but definitely book Lucmabamba lodge if you can. Its like a hotel for the same price as a dorm, and the family is super lovely.

Everywhere also made sandwhiches for lunch the next day, and there a lots of kioskos along the way to recharge on snacks and drinks.

You can organise your own transport from Cusco for cheaper by catching a collectivo and then a taxi to the trailhead. Or Soraypampa Hostel offers shared taxi and breakfast that morning for 80 soles.

The path is super easy to follow, and its a veritable highway during the day with all the tour groups on it. In the end up you probably end up saving $100usd (including tickets to Machu Picchu) doing it on your own, which isn’t a lot for some but is heaps for others.

    Super rewarding. Good luck!
