  • OpenAI closed both my user account and API access for “Acts of Violence”, yet absolutely nothing has been violence related on neither my account nor on the web service using API (I checked my API logs as well). They’re not replying to appeals either, essentially locking down business activity as well.

They locked my Tier 5 with all of its funds.

How is this possible without them actually giving details I would need for the appeal?

  • The magic of color illusions like the red-that-isn’t is a testament to how our brains build our visual reality. It’s a fascinating look at the cognitive processes that we engage in, often without even knowing. Next time you encounter a color illusion, take a moment to appreciate the beautiful complexity of your perception. The mind’s eye is, indeed, a wondrous thing!

So, did you see the red that wasn’t really there? Isn’t it amazing how a simple image can open a door to such profound thoughts? That’s the beauty of it — a reminder that sometimes, there’s more to our perception than meets the eye.

  • Any experience with Amazon handmade over Etsy? So I was researching Etsy and came across Amazon, and was wondering if anyone has ever tried Amazon handmade. I will be making small batches of soy based wax candles that are naturally fragranced and will source raw materials from Alibaba International, with the exception of the fragrances. My entire selling point is that my candles do not disrupt hormone and the endocrine system, so my fragranes have to be 100% natural which I source locally. I was wondering if anyone has used handmade Amazon to sell homemade items and how does it compare to Etsy. I had never even heard of it before so I am really new to it. So what I do know is that sellers have to be approved unlike Etsy, and also there is a 15% commission fee which is a lot more than Etsy, which is about 9.5% plus $0.25 per sale. Plus Amazon has a subscription fee of like $40 bucks so not sure if it is worth it if you are not able to cover the monthly fee with enough sales. There are no listing costs though while Etsy has listing costs so maybe it evens out? Has anyone tried it before? The only advantage is that I will get access to Amazon’s large customer base and prime shipping which are obvious perks. Also maybe the serious onboarding results in sellers being vetted properly and that means there are onlyh serious sellers and quality available. I don’t have a lot of budget for ads, packaging etc, so if the platform is helping me sell I am willing to pay more for it, I just am not sure how effetive it will be.

  • Hi everyone, I’ve tried Agent Mode four times and each attempt returned “An error occurred,” performed zero searches, and still consumed four of my 40 requests. Has anyone else run into this problem?

  • Hello everyone,

I’m a student from West Africa currently studying English with a focus on Linguistics. Alongside that, I’ve completed a professional certification in Software Engineering.

I’m really interested in Computational Linguistics because I want to work on language technologies especially tools that can help preserve, process, and support African languages using NLP and AI. At the same time, I’d also like to be qualified for general software development roles, especially since that’s where most of the job market is.

Unfortunately, degrees in Computational Linguistics aren’t offered in my country. I’m considering applying abroad or finding some alternative paths.

So I have a few questions:

Is a degree in Computational Linguistics a good fit for both my goals (language tech + software dev)?

Would it still allow me to work in regular software development jobs if needed?

What are alternative paths to get into the field if I can’t afford to go abroad right away?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s gone into this field from a linguistics or software background—especially from underrepresented regions.

    Thanks in advance!

  • First off I’m not a physician nor claim to be one. I’ve recently published a speculative hypothesis in hopes to one day restore autonomy and a voice to those who’ve been robbed of it.

Let me also clarify the premise doesn’t involve using actual cancer cells themselves as a treatment, but to emulate the neurotrophic signaling, synaptic mimicry, etc.(full breakdown within article) behaviors that tumors exhibit when invading the nervous system. These behaviors, if synthetically replicated in a controlled way, can potentially inspire a next level treatment for non-invasive neural regeneration, BCI’s, or even brain–machine repair systems.

Any and all feedback is appreciated.
